Defining Love

Since last fall my family has been attending church at Hope Presbyterian Church. I love my church... when my husband first suggested going I was completely intimidated by the sheer enormity of the church and its congregation - now that we are members, I understand and it's really no big deal. Once you get in a routine, join a few groups, and volunteer some, you meet people and make friends. Hope isn't a place where you get beaten up or judged because you're a sinner - it's a place where you learn about God.
Today we started a series called "Love, Defined." Throughout the course of this series we will be defining love. Today our attention was brought to the fact that in our American society we are encouraged to, in simple words, be materialistic, to love objects.
Love is a choice, it's something we do.
I'm interested and encouraged by this series and by my church.
